ABOUT THE EVENT

An International Conference on Textiles – Light and Weather-fastness will be held Friday, 21 January 2011. Sponsored by ASTM International, Atlas Materials Testing Technology and DyStar, the conference will be held at the India Textile Committee Auditorium in Mumbai, India.

ASTM International Announces Conference on Textiles to Be Held in Mumbai, India in January 2011

ASTM International, together with Atlas Material Testing Solutions and DyStar, will hold a one-day conference on

Textiles - Light and Weather Fastness,

on Jan. 21, 2011,

in Mumbai, India.

The conference's topics of light and weather fastness were chosen because the need for technical and high performance textiles has been growing exponentially. The events will provide a significant opportunity to learn about various aspects of these cutting edge issues as well as enable a unique information exchange.

ASTM International’s First Ever Global Virtual Meeting on sustainability of Textile and Textile product manufacture and use

ASTM International is conducting a Virtual Meeting on Sustainability in the Textile Industry with emphasis on the US EPA regulations on Green events and its impact on textile products and the future approach towards sustainability as a Global concept .

Program Details

The program will consist of speeches by US and Indian experts and will cover US efforts towards sustainability, both Government and private.  EPA regulations on use of sustainable and Green Textiles in Major Events-- program is planned for 4 speakers, 15 mins each, an Internet based audience of 35-50 from various countries. A break out session for 20 mins; The virtual meeting will present a forum for a very preliminary discussion on this issue.  In the audience we anticipate having participants from the U.S. and India and perhaps other nations.  This virtual meeting presents a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders in the international marketplace (producers, procurers and general interest participants) to conduct a brief and preliminary discussion on the topic.

Computer and Internet requirements

The Entire program will be held on the WebEx platform* and speakers and participants need to connect to ASTM Virtual meeting site to attend the program. Links to join the meeting will be sent on 7th Tuesday from USA. *Instructions on how to participate in a WebEx conference are available from https://astm.webex.com/mw0305l/mywebex/default.do?siteurl=astm

All attendees must have a computer with sound enabled, and must use head sets . Those intending to ask questions or speak during the program or in the break out session should have head sets with microphones. All mikes barring the speakers will be muted when the official speakers are speaking. All mikes will be un-muted  whenever a attendee wants to ask a question.

Internet speeds : Recommended 256 Kpbs and above .  Minimum 112 Kpbs . Speeds above this will render better quality sound and Video and less lag . Speeds below 112Kpbs will have very poor quality sound  may not stream video at all and may get disconnected from the meeting site.
