ASTM Vice President Speaks at APECMeeting in Singapore
ASTM International standard F2725, Guide for European Union’s Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) Supply Chain Information Exchange, was the topic of a presentation given by Teresa Cendrowska, vice president, global cooperation, ASTM, at the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings held in Singapore on Feb. 13-26.
Cendrowska discussed F2725 with APEC’s chemical dialogue steering group, which includes chemical regulators and the chemical industry. In addition, Cendrowska spoke about ASTM International, ASTM Committee F40 on Declarable Substances in Materials and F2725 during a trade facilitation task force meeting of APEC’s Subcommittee on Standards and Conformance. Cendrowska also attended meetings of the subcommittee’s project advisory group on education.
APEC, made up of 21 member countries, serves as a forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. It works to bolster trans-Pacific cooperation by addressing a wide range of issues that are critical to regional prosperity and peace, including energy, education, security and good governance.
