AATCC, [TC]2, and Philadelphia University are jointly sponsoring a symposium for professionals in the design and product development field that will bring together a diverse
range of individuals from the textile, apparel, home furnishings and related soft goods industries. This two-day program titled, “Connecting through Creativity, Technology and Business - Designers and Product Developers Meet the Challenge” will be held August 12-13, 2009
Suzanne Tick, Principal of Suzanne Tick Inc., will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday, August 12. Suzanne Tick Inc. specializes in material development for commercial and residential interiors including textiles, hard surfacing, carpet, woven metal screens, and lighting. Tick's presentation, "Revolution Reality: Paralleling the Design Revolution of the Sixties with Today" is an investigation of the parallels between the social and design revolutions of the 60s era and the realities of today. The concepts of super graphics, transparency, diffusion of light, tectonic structures, modular thinking, contemplative fields, the hand, and the machine are explored.

REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE – individuals registering on or before July 28 pay US$749 (US$499 for individual and corporate* AATCC/[TC]2 members) and will include luncheons, breaks and a downloadable copy of all available papers. After July 28 the registration fee increases to US$549 for AATCC/[TC]2 members and US$799 for nonmembers. The student registration fee is US$125. Refunds will be honored if cancellations are received on or before August 4, 2009. A US$75 cancellation fee will be charged.
